Since then Robert has played in about every venue, style and group imaginable in the American music scene, from intimate clubs to weddings to hip jazz gigs to public festivals and national concert halls. Robert has a wonderful voice, is a gifted guitar player, has worked as a studio musician and played in the orchestra pit for musical theatre. Though able to function musically in many styles he is a noted Blues bandleader and front man. Producing

Robert wrote his first show, a comedic Thanksgiving play, when he was 10 years old and in the 4th grade. At the age of 11 he wrote his second play, “The Life Of Jesus”, and produced the show next to the alley for the neighborhood kids charging 10 cents admission.

Throughout his life Robert has continually been producing shows in varying degrees. The job of the producer is bringing all the elements of the production together in a manner that will work. This can involve: performers, rehearsals, sets, costumes, music, lighting, stage direction, promotion, procurement of show space and fund raising. The process of production can involve all of these elements or just some of them. When looked at in this light even a simple gig is an example of producing.

Over the years Robert has produced: innumerable gigs, recording sessions, children’s Christmas shows, student recitals, television appearances, radio appearances, handicapped children’s shows, neighborhood art and music events, an original ballet in a national hall, original musical theatre in a national hall and a multimedia variety show in a national hall. Aside from being in charge of the overall productions Robert has composed and directed the music involved.

Lessons

Robert has been teaching music since he was 19 years old. He gained a lot of insight into the craft by taking lessons himself from the ages of 8 to 26. He is classically trained and has studied the guitar since he was 8 years old. He is a patient and caring instructor who know his stuff and feels an obligation to pass on what he was taught. Robert has a high degree of success with children and has rehearsed and coached them in many highly successful public performances.

Robert is also a formally trained music instructor well versed in music theory and guitar technique. Many of his adult students have gone on to being successful professional players and masters of the craft. Lessons in guitar, music theory, composition and arranging can be scheduled either one on one or on the computer via Skype. Lessons are either a 1/2 an hour or an hour in length depending on the age, ability and goals of the student. Please contact Robert for price quotes and availability.
